Tiger Woods Injured in Vehicle Crash in Rancho Palos Verdes

RANCHO PALOS VERDES (CNS) – Tiger Woods was seriously injured today when the vehicle he was driving rolled over and went off the road in the Rancho Palos Verdes area.

The crash was reported at about 7:12 a.m. on Hawthorne Boulevard at Blackhorse Road, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department reported.

“The vehicle sustained major damage,” the sheriff’s department said in a statement. “The driver and sole occupant was identified as PGA golfer, Eldrick `Tiger’ Woods. Mr. Woods was extricated from the wreck with the `jaws of life’ by Los Angeles County firefighters and paramedics, then transported to a local hospital by ambulance for his injuries.”

Woods’ exact condition was not immediately released, and the circumstances of the crash were under investigation. His vehicle was traveling north on Hawthorne Boulevard at the time of the accident, and no other vehicles appeared to be involved.

Woods, 45, who was born in Cypress, was in the Southland for the Genesis Invitational golf tournament at Riviera Country Club over the weekend.
