Overnight Closure Of 5 Freeway In Santa Fe Springs Planned Next Week

SANTA FE SPRINGS (CNS) – All northbound lanes of the Santa Ana (5) Freeway in the Santa Fe Springs and La Mirada areas will be closed overnight for at least five days this week, starting today, and southbound lanes will be closed on Wednesday and Thursday.

The northbound lanes will be closed between Carmenita Road and Artesia Boulevard from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and possibly Friday, Oct. 24, according to Caltrans.

On Wednesday, Thursday and possibly Friday, Oct. 24, southbound lanes will be closed between Carmenita and Artesia from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m., Caltrans reported.

The northbound San Gabriel River (605) Freeway connector to the southbound Santa Ana (5) Freeway will also be closed from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Wednesday, Thursday and possibly Friday.

The Artesia (91) Freeway connector ramp to the northbound Santa Ana (5) Freeway will be closed from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Wednesday, Thursday and possibly Friday.

Southbound traffic will be detoured at Carmenita Road and motorists can get back on the freeway at Artesia Boulevard, while northbound traffic will be detoured at Artesia Boulevard and motorists can get back on the freeway at Carmenita Road.

Crews will remove a temporary frame from the Valley View Avenue Bridge during the closure, Caltrans said.
