| A new collection of original short stories from the editor of WatchOurCity.com that revives the Noir Pulp Fiction genre, with a Latino twist, based on real-life shenanigans at small-time local city halls where the public record is stranger than fiction. The intrigue, the corruption, the comedy, the incompetence and every policeman's ultimate fantasy of sex in a donut shop. CUT ME IN is a series of riveting stories of bumbling and deeply flawed characters - mobsters, fringe players, petty thieves turned politicians turned petty thieves - with dark agendas who betray their honor, and the public's trust, on a dime's turn; at times humorous and tragic; redemption is always around the corner but flees when tempted by small ambition; rare moments of truth are discarded like chump change, all played out over the background both bleak and colorfully gritty of a blue-collar immigrant town in the shadows of the big city, a town of second chancers, forgotten and abused, but aching for a comeback... tales with no moral lessons to uncover, only everyday political dirty dealings with the help of one lone hero, Chucho* and his beloved low-rider. |

| George Cole gets hands dirty George Cole & his Gay Issue Monday March 2, 2009, The Editor, WatchOurCity.com Bell, CA - For the editor at WatchOurCity.com, it is a no-brainer to endorse Nestor Valencia and Mario Rivas for Bell city council. Both have a strong ethical base and are challenging Bell's corruption. Perhaps that's why George Cole wants to see Nestor fail in his bid for public office. You see, George Cole is the de facto mafioso Don of Southeast politics, what with getting multi-million dollar contracts, in rigged bidding conditions, when he wasn't even the lowest bidder, by his buddy Juan Noguez in Huntington Park, and by his friends at the Central Basin Water District. Millions of dollars, folks. Millions. Nestor is a family man and wants to see corruption disappear from Bell. Perhaps that's why George Cole called Nestor on Sunday afternoon, just two days before the March 3 elections, threatening with menacingly false but damaging accusations that Nestor should come out of the closet. Say what? George must be a very nervous man to take campaign matters into his own dirty fat hands, leaving his dirty fingerprints at the scene of the crime. In years past, when George was still an elected official, he left all the grunt dirty work to his employees at city hall or at his Oldtimers Foundation. George was clean as a whistle. If any bungling happened at all, any fingerprints led to his lieutenants, never to Cole, and there were plenty a dirty mark at many scenes of many political crime scenes. It's curious that George seems to be loosing his touch, and directly accusing Nestor of being a closeted gay. It gets better, George even accused Nestor of having gay sex with a campaign volunteer of Nestor's. Such is the desperation of George Cole. Nestor was enjoying a late lunch with his wife while listening to the master of intimidation and political dirty dealings on the phone. George, all of a sudden takes to homophobia as a campaign tool, threatening to cower, intimidate and harass. George's sudden use of homophobia as a blunt political tool is curious for two very big reasons. First, Valencia is a married man....with a wife.....and two daughters. But that's not even the main issue. More importantly, George Cole's favorite councilman, a partner in crime in the highest order, is John Noguez, Huntington Park's first out-of-the closet elected official. John is as gay as gay can be and is the female part of the equation. John is a standing member of the Victory Fund, a politically active and progressive organization that is well funded, has its very own Political Action Committee to fund the campaigns of honorable progressive gay elected officials.....I'm referring to the Victory Fund, not John Noguez. John Noguez is the kind of guy who's own mother sued him in L.A. Superior Court. George and Noguez are linked by an incredible web of corruption and have so many political dealings in common, you'd think they were a perfect couple themselves....in fact, they are. John Noguez is the kind of guy who asked a charter school operator in Huntington Park for a $50,000 campaign donation in exchange for planning department approval. This is not rumor or innuendo. It's a fact; Blagojavitch style Pay for Play. George and Noguez shared the same political fundraising consultant, Conrado Terrazas, according to public record filings. Conrado is also gay and wrote a glowing article on John Noguez's coming out party in Adelante Magazine, a Latino Gay/Lesbian publication. Conrado also worked for George Cole's Oldtimers Foundation. So being gay is O.K. for George as long you are gay and corrupt. As John Noguez is. Noguez gives honorable gay elected officials a bad name. As long as George Cole can get a multi-million transportation contract from you, a gay out of the closet council member, it's alright. And if you just happen to not be gay, well, heck, he'll make you into one, the political version of dropping a bar of soap in a prison shower stall. If you even think of opposing George Cole, being gay all of sudden becomes a tool of derogatory insult, a political and character assassination tool. George Cole's message is clear: don't mess with him or he'll screw you real well. So much for his Southeast Democratic Club which he runs. Such a sloppy and dirty old man you've become in your old age George, and such desperation leads to mistakes. But then again, you've always been politically dirty, you've played dirty and continue to do so. The question is, why is George taking so direct a hand in this campaign? Why is George afraid of Nestor? What can Nestor do to such a powerhouse as George is in Southeast L.A. County politics? Maybe Nestor stands a chance to beat the two candidates Cole is puppetering. Nestor could be the beginning of the end for George Cole, the Southeast political machine, and his multi-million dollar contracts. Ironically, George Cole's sudden homophobia is so disturbing because one of the L.A. County funded contracts run by George Cole is for AIDS/HIV clinic located in Cole's own Oldtimers Foundation on Gage Avenue in Huntington Park. Patients served are not only the local Latino population in general, but also the Latino gay community. Did County officials know of George Cole's homophobia when they awarded Cole the AIDS/HIV contract? George has issues with being gay. Who goes to bed with whom is more of an issue with George Cole than anyone else. If you are a city of Bell resident, your vote for Nestor Valencia and Mario Rivas is a vote against George Cole and his machinery of corruption. Nestor Valencia is by now a veteran council candidate, having campaigned for Bell city council back 2007 for the first time, but lost to Cole's team. Valencia was so green a candidate that he actually approached George Cole to inform of his intent for a run at city council, naively believing that George gave a damn, or would help him out. And Cole obliged, feigning interest in mentoring. Back then, Cole had some seemingly well-intended words of advice for Valencia. First, Valencia has never managed a campaign. Secondly, Valencia needed a campaign manager. So magnanimous was Cole with Valencia that Cole even offered to recommend the highly regarded Mario Beltran, a Bell Gardens councilman, as Velencia's campaign manager. Why, even Juan Noguez in Huntington Park was also using Mario Beltran as his campaign manager during the 2007 election. Valencia is no dummy. He rejected the seedy offer by Beltran for campaign services which were not for free. Good thing Valencia rejected Beltran. Exactly one week after the March 2007 elections, Mario Beltran was indicted by the D.A. then convicted in Norwalk Superior Court. Turns out, Mario Beltran has a long rap sheet of a criminal history as confirmed by several area police departments and several media reports including the L.A. Times. Beltran is a convicted felon two times over, and is under investigation by the FBI for giving out sham multi-million dollar contracts to owners of a towing business, one of whom is a confirmed felon himself. Such are the folks George Cole trusts to be his political confidants. Last week Nestor was singled out in a political mailer hit piece sent to voters in Bell. The negative campaign mailer stated "Stop a corrupt politician", implying that Nestor was a corrupt politician. Nestor has never held elected office before. Next, the mailer stated "Who is paying for Nestor Valencia?" and "Nestor Valencia is supported by big money" of developers. The curious thing, exactly the same mailer was sent to voters in Cudahy, same color scheme, same accusations, even the same pictures of a bulldozer moving earth, but with candidate pictures swapped out to show pictures instead of Daniel Cota and Luis Garcia, both council candidates opposing incubents with shady histories. Cota and Garcia have had death threats against them, including published reports in the L.A. Times about harassment and intimidation against Cota and Garcia by gangsters and thugs, literally, and Molotov cocktails thrown through windows. Both pieces end with the same quote: "You can't trust Nestor Valencia" and "You can't trust Cota and Garcia". The reasonable conclusion is that the same campaign manager used the same graphic design template to produce both hit pieces in Bell and Cudahy. And everyone knows what's going on in Cudahy, what with all the L.A. Weekly reports by Jeffrey Anderson and the Warren Olny broadcast last Friday focusing on Cudahy' City Hall's criminal connections and political operatives recruited from local gangs. Who would of thought that politicians would recruit bona fide gang members to wage terror campaigns? So George Cole is now in league with Cudahy. The hit pieces are mailed by a group called "Better Southeast Coalition". Funny, George Cole has a group called "Southeast Cities Schools Coalition". A mere coincidence? The address listed for the group is 1212 S. Victory Blvd., Burbank, CA, 91502. There is no such entity known as Better Southeast Coalition. Durkee and Associates operates from this address and create fake coaltion entities for the sole purpose providing cover and legitimizing dirty political campaigns. Nestor also sent some campaign mailers which were scheduled for delivery by the city of Bell branch of the U.S. Post Office. Inexplicably, Nestor's mailers never made it for Saturday delivery. This happened in Huntington Park during the 2003 and 2007 elections. Local U.S. Post Office officials were seemingly in league with city council to delay processing and delivery of time sensitive material. Curiously, these unexplained delays only happen to candidates who oppose the incumbent team. Just some tricks of the trade which the FBI may be curious to look into. On March 13, 2009, WatchOurCity.com will turn five years old. This site has been documenting and reporting on George Cole and John Noguez, Huntington Park's first gay elected official, their associations and networks, all their millions of dollars in sham contracts and the dirtier than dirt elections they run. ________________________________________________________________ |
| February 10, 2009 City of Bell and Huntington Park: How Elections are won Political Transvestites And Democratic Cross-Dressers The Comings and Goings of George Cole and John Noguez For the first time in decades, Huntington Park has cancelled elections. The March 2009 elections are called off. One incumbent, Elba Guerrero, runs unopposed and the other, Elba Romo, a Stanford grad and the smartest, honorable of them all, is fed up with the outright corruption of the John Noguez-Rosario Marin city council. Elba Romo decided not to seek re-election. Romo is out of her league anyway, what with fellow council members without even a high school diploma, or basic English skills. (see complete report) |

Curious pattern with George Cole. He resigns from the Central Basin Water District, yet still maintains control of the millions of dollars flowing to his Oldtimers Foundation by appointing an employee of his working at the Oldtimers Foundation to replace him on the board. George resigns from Bell city council, yet still maintains control of the millions of dollars and elections in city hall. ___________________ |
