Huntington Park, CA - According to the city's Warrant Register for June 21, 2004, City
Attorney Francisco Leal received $2,217 for "Professional Services/Gaming Matters".

In addition to his city attorney duties, Leal is the Community Development Commission's
attorney, he is the city's Lobbyist, and is now  being paid for Gaming Services. The city
continues to pursue a card casino at Leonardo's Night Club on Alameda.

Escareño, Gomez and Hernandez were the majority that appointed Leal as city attorney.
Hernandez and Noguez received campaign contributions from Leal.

Leonardo's owner's contributed $2,000 to Hernandez's campaign and $5,000 to Noguez in
"non-monetary" contributions. Escareno, Noguez, Gomez and Hernandez voted for the
Noguez-sponsored city measure to pursue a card club at Leonardo's Night Club.

The card casino agenda item was first brought up as a closed session legal item on 4-19-04,
disguised to make it seem like a real property issue and not a gaming issue, as reported by
the Wave Newspaper and WatchOurCity.com.

The city subsequently listed the Card Club proposal as an open agenda item.
